(IBC) Chapters are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt 501(c)3 organizations under the group exemption #5306 of the parent organization - Institute for Black Charities.
IBC Chapters sponsor local umbrella federations to raise funds in employee workplace campaigns for approved non-profit organizations. Organizations that provide services to Black, high-risk under-served communities are invited to join the federation. IBC provides organizations with technical assistance throughout the process to ensure compliance with regulations and the criteria for campaign participation.
